Keys & Home Access
I’m happy to keep your key securely on file for future visits.
If you prefer to have your key returned after service, a $12 key drop-off fee applies. A $12 pickup fee will apply if the key needs to be collected again for future service.
For safety, keys will never be left unattended or hidden outside your home.
A lockbox, smart lock, or front-desk key is also welcome and avoids key pickup and drop-off fees.
You are responsible for providing reliable access to your home and accurate keys, codes, alarm instructions, and building-access information.
If I am unable to access your home because of an incorrect or malfunctioning key, lock, code, building-access issue, or another circumstance outside my control, I will make reasonable efforts to contact you or your emergency contact.
Visits
Visits are scheduled within a general morning, afternoon, or evening window, with your cat’s routine in mind.
Exact-time visits may be arranged when medically necessary.
For your cat’s safety, a minimum of one visit every 24 hours is required while your cat is in my care.
Holiday Surcharge
A $10 per-visit surcharge applies on:
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Veterinary & Medical Emergencies
You agree to provide current veterinary information and designate an emergency contact as part of your client intake information.
In an emergency, I will make every reasonable effort to contact you first.
If I am unable to reach you, I will contact your designated emergency contact. If necessary for your cat’s health or safety, I may transport your cat to your preferred veterinarian or animal hospital.
If your preferred veterinarian is unavailable or circumstances require immediate attention, you authorize me to seek care from an appropriate veterinary facility.
If neither you nor your designated emergency contact can be reached, you authorize veterinary treatment up to the emergency-care amount you specified on your client intake form.
Emergency care and transportation time provided by the cat sitter is billed at $38 per hour, in addition to veterinary fees, medications, transportation-related expenses, and other costs associated with your cat’s care. All such expenses are the client’s responsibility.
Medications
Routine oral and topical medication is included with a standard visit when discussed and agreed upon in advance.
You agree to provide clearly labeled medication, sufficient medication for the entire service period, and complete written instructions.
While every reasonable effort will be made to administer medication as directed, administration cannot be guaranteed if your cat hides, refuses medication, becomes aggressive, or cannot safely be handled.
If medication cannot be administered safely, I will make reasonable efforts to contact you.
Pet Health & Behavior
You agree to disclose any known medical conditions and any history of biting, scratching, aggression, escape attempts, severe anxiety, or other behavior that could affect your cat’s care or safety.
I will not force interaction or handling when I reasonably believe doing so could endanger your cat or another person.
Indoor & Outdoor Cats
I will follow the instructions we agree upon regarding doors, windows, balconies, patios, and outdoor access.
If you instruct me to allow your cat outdoors, you acknowledge the risks associated with outdoor access. I cannot guarantee your cat’s return or safety once released outdoors according to your instructions.
Other People Entering the Home
Please tell me if anyone else—including friends, family members, cleaners, maintenance workers, or other pet-care providers—will have access to your home during the service period.
I cannot be responsible for the actions, omissions, or property damage caused by other people who enter your home while you are away.
Delayed Return
If your return is delayed, please contact me as soon as possible.
I will make every reasonable effort to continue caring for your cat, subject to my availability.
Additional visits will be charged at the regular applicable rate.
Pet care is not automatically extended. You must contact me and receive confirmation of additional visits.
Circumstances Beyond My Control
Severe weather, building emergencies, transportation disruptions, illness, or other circumstances outside my reasonable control may occasionally affect visit timing.
If circumstances prevent me from arriving during the anticipated visit window, I will make reasonable efforts to ensure your cat receives necessary care and to keep you informed.
Photos & Updates
You will receive photos and update following visits.
Photos of your cat will not be used publicly on my website, social media, or other promotional materials without your permission.
Identifying photos or information about your home, address, security arrangements, or personal belongings will not be publicly shared.
Liability
I will provide services with reasonable care and attention.
You acknowledge that animals can behave unpredictably and that illness, injury, escape, property damage, and other unexpected events can occur even when reasonable care is exercised.
To the extent permitted by Illinois law, I am not responsible for loss, injury, veterinary expenses, property damage, or other costs resulting from circumstances outside my reasonable control, undisclosed medical or behavioral conditions, household hazards, inaccurate instructions, outdoor access authorized by the client, or the actions of third parties.
Nothing in this agreement waives liability that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.

You confirm that the information you provide regarding your cat, their health and behavior, medications, home access, veterinary information, and emergency contacts is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
